EazeQuant Mouse GM-CSF ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect mouse Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) in serum and cell culture supernatant.

GM-CSF in mice is a cytokine produced by T cells, macrophages and endothelial cells. It plays a crucial role in the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells into granulocytes and macrophages. GM-CSF enhances the function of mature macrophages and neutrophils by promoting their survival, activation, and phagocytic activity. Elevated levels of GM-CSF are associated with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and pulmonary alveolar proteinosis. In murine models, GM-CSF has been shown to be essential for the immune response against bacterial and fungal infections. Therapeutic targeting of GM-CSF signaling pathways holds potential for treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases by modulating the activity of immune cells.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of mouse GM-CSF in the original specimen.
