EazeQuant Mouse TFG beta 1 ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect mouse Transforming Growth Factor-beta 1 (TFG-β1) in serum, EDTA/citrate plasma, and cell culture supernatant.

TFG-β1 in mice is a multifunctional cytokine produced by many cell types, including macrophages, platelets, and fibroblasts. It plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth, differentiation, and immune responses. TFG-β1 signals through TFG-β receptors, activating the SMAD signaling pathway. Dysregulation of TFG-β is associated with fibrosis, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. TFG-β1 is involved in the suppression of immune responses and the promotion of tissue regeneration. However, overexpression can lead to pathological fibrosis and contribute to tumor progression. Therapeutic modulation of TFG-β1 signaling pathways in murine models holds potential for treating fibrotic diseases and certain cancers.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of mouse TFG-β1 in the original specimen.
