EazeQuant Mouse IL-17A ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect mouse Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) in cell culture supernatant and serum.

IL-17A (CTLA-8) is a pivotal CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine contributing significantly to inflammatory responses. It is on elevated levels in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis and transplant rejection. In IL-17A-17F protein family, IL-17A exists as a disulfide-linked 32 kDa homodimer with 136 amino acids and exerts its effects through interacting with IL-17R/CDw217. It stimulates ICAM-1 expression in human fibroblasts. It induces the secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF and PGE2 by epithelial, endothelial or fibroblastic cells. IL-17A promotes the proliferation of CD34+ hematopoietic progenitors and their maturation into neutrophils. It also regulates NF-κB and mitogen-activated protein kinase activities, stimulates the expressions of IL-6 and PTGS2/CCX-2, and enhances NO production.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of mouse IL-17A in the original specimen.
