EazeQuant Human CRP ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect human C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in serum and EDTA/citrate/heparin plasma .

CRP is an acute-phase protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. It is widely used as a clinical biomarker for inflammation and infection. CRP binds to phosphocholine on the surface of dead or dying cells and certain bacteria, activating the complement system and promoting phagocytosis. In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human CRP in the original specimen.
