EazeQuant Human CD25 ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect human CD25 in serum, EDTA/citrate/heparin plasma and cell culture supernatant.

CD25, also known as the Interleukin-2 Receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα), is a protein found on the surface of various immune cells, including activated T cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and some B cells. It is a crucial component of the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex, which is vital for T cell proliferation and overall immune regulation. CD25 serves as an important marker for Treg cells, which are essential for maintaining immune tolerance and preventing autoimmune diseases. Its presence on Tregs is critical for their ability to suppress immune responses. This makes CD25 an attractive therapeutic target for modulating the immune system in conditions like autoimmune diseases, organ transplantation, and cancer.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human IL-2RA/CD25 in the original specimen.
