EazeQuant Human GRO alpha (CXCL1) ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect human GRO alpha (CXCL1) in serum, EDTA/citrate/heparin plasma and cell culture supernatant.

CXCL1, also known as Growth-Regulated Oncogene-alpha (GROα), is a chemokine produced by macrophages, fibroblasts, and epithelial cells. CXCL1 plays a crucial role in the body’s response to inflammation and injury by recruiting neutrophils to the affected areas. It achieves this by binding to and signaling through its specific receptor, CXCR2. High levels of CXCL1 are linked to psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. Because of its ability to attract neutrophils, CXCL1 is a critical player in initiating acute inflammatory responses. Its involvement in both chronic inflammation and the progression of tumors highlights its potential as a therapeutic target for treating these diseases.

In the assay, the microplate is pre-coated with the first antibody, whereas samples, standards, or controls are added and bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human GROα in the original specimen.
