EazeQuant Human IL-21 ELISA Kit is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative detection of human Interleukin-21 (IL-21) in serum, EDTA/citrate plasma and cell culture supernatant.
IL-21 is a cytokine produced by activated CD4+ T cells and Natural Killer T (NKT) cells. It plays a critical role in regulating the function of immune cells, including B cells, T cells, and NK cells. IL-21 signals through the IL-21R receptor, activating the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Elevated levels of IL-21 are associated with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, and it has potential therapeutic applications in cancer immunotherapy. IL-21 enhances the proliferation and differentiation of B cells, promoting antibody production. Its ability to modulate immune responses makes it a valuable target for treating autoimmune diseases and enhancing anti-tumor immunity.
In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human IL-21 in the original specimen.
