EazeQuant Human IL-15 ELISA Kit is used to quantitively detect human Interleukin-15 (IL-15) in serum, EDTA/citrate/heparin plasma and cell culture supernatant.

IL-15 is a cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is involved in the development, proliferation, and activation of natural killer (NK) cells and CD8+ T cells. IL-15 shares some biological activities with IL-2 and signals through the IL-15Rα receptor complex. IL-15 is essential for the maintenance of long-lived memory T cells and has potential therapeutic applications in cancer and infectious diseases. The ability of IL-15 to enhance the cytotoxic activity of NK cells and CD8+ T cells makes it a promising candidate for cancer immunotherapy. Additionally, IL-15’s role in promoting immune responses against viral infections highlights its potential in antiviral therapies.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human IL-15 in the original specimen.
