EazeQuant Human PD-L1 ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect human Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) in serum, citrate/heparin/EDTA plasma, cell culture supernatant and cell lysates.

PD-L1 is an immune checkpoint protein expressed on the surface of many cell types, including tumor cells and antigen-presenting cells. PD-L1 binds to PD-1 receptors on T cells, leading to the inhibition of T-cell activity and promoting immune evasion by tumors. PD-L1 inhibitors are used in cancer immunotherapy to block this interaction and enhance anti-tumor immune responses. The expression of PD-L1 on tumor cells is a mechanism by which cancers can evade the immune system. Targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway has revolutionized cancer treatment, providing new therapeutic options for patients with advanced cancers.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human PD-L1 in the original specimen.
