EazeQuant Human IFN gamma ELISA Kit, 96 Tests

The EazeQuant Human IFN gamma ELISA Kit is used to quantitatively detect both native and recombinant human Interferon gamma (IFN-γ) in cell culture supernatant, serum and EDTA/citrate/heparin plasma.

IFN production is triggered by the stimuli like antigens and cytokines. It is a dimeric protein with two 146 amino acid subunits, appearing as bands of different sizes on SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation. IFN has species-specific biological activity, with no cross-reactivity between human and mouse. It performs multiple functions such as antiviral and tumor antiproliferative activities, macrophage activation, and enhanced immunoglobulin secretion. It plays a key role in cytokine regulation and works synergistically with other cytokines. Through binding to IFN receptors, it activates the JAK-STAT pathway. Its expression is influenced by various factors and mutations in the IFN gene are linked to aplastic anemia.

In the assay, samples, standards or controls are added to the microplate coated with the primary antibody, and then bind to the immobilized antibody in the microplate wells. Subsequently, the second antibody is introduced to the mixtures as the detector, followed by the addition of a substrate solution that generates signal to be measured. The intensity of this signal correlates to the concentration of human IFN-γ in the original specimen.
